Technology takes a role in Chico schools

This article was released in 2012 in Chico, California. After presenting the concept of flipped teaching and its benefits to the Chico Unified School Board, Roger Aylworth approached me about doing a piece on the role of technology in the classroom. He observed me teaching biology and brought a photographer. The photographer complained that I move around the room too much and asked if he could get a photo of me standing at the front of the room speaking to all the students. I told him, “I’m sorry, I just don’t teach that way.” He figured that out quickly and managed to get a photo that he liked and that captured the way I teach.
